Old Kings Norton - Wharf Road

I have a photograph taken from the corner of Masshouse Lane, looking up Wharf Road, if anyone can date it? It shows the old cattle market site and behind it what is presumably The Navigation pub, but an older building, with a sign hanging outside. The only word I can read on is "Ales". On the road is a horse-drawn cart with a canvas covering. The lettering on the back contains the words "Steam Laundry".KingsNortonWharfRd.jpg
