  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Great picture,as i lived in FORMANS RD from 1935-1962 it brought back happy memories.
As a youngster you could reach over the wall in the FORMANS RD side of the property
The return bottles were stacked against the wall in FORMANS RD. All you had to do was get your mate
to lift you up ,take a couple of bottles and take them in the outdoor and get a couple of coppers
for some sweets.

Tut tut Ken. But then I think we all did this at some point. Actually I am still actively involved with bottle returns as I buy a few crates every time I visit Belgium. You pay a deposit on the crate and bottles so I take them all back - besides it's good recycling.

You're right - it's a lovely photograph. One of the best outdoor photographs I have seen for a while.
 
smashing photo and info..i have a few photos of outdoors mainly taken in the 50s..just had a look through them but none of this on that i can add..
