my word ?

gingerjon

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN R.I.P.
My Word
I write down these poems for you to read
Please tell me if these are what you need
Thinking of all these words that rhyme
And some of them take such a long time
Sitting here thinking of these words to say
What do you know its the end of the day
Me thinks I will carry on for a little while
To see if I can improve my writing style
Now my words they are starting to flow
And now new words make feel all of a glow
I hope all this work as not been in vain
And all of you out there feel the same
So if you read these words and enjoy
Can you see through my written ploy

 I read all the poem posts John and there are some very good ones... I don't always comment even on the ones I like, n fear of repeating myself over and over again and sounding condescending or glib.

You and the others write some very good stuff, well worth taking the time to read.

Yes John.....they are EXACTLY what we need...............keep 'em coming

I read all the posts on here..........but when I have a moment to just sit and take a coffee break with a hobnob...........I often flick through the poem section and re read some of the poetry.

Its especially nice when new members join and re ignite a poetry post and I get to read a poem I havent read for a long long time

Two replies already - Good for you John my friend keep it going - people like you

Beryl

John, as Chris says sometimes we may not comment, but we're sitting here smiling or nodding at our keyboards believe me and poetry is something to revisit at any time. Keep writing :)

I look and see your empty pages -
A life yet unfulfilled
A world not yet created
Only silent pages that await your touch.
Words are becoming impatient...
Give breath, grant passion!
Please write!

a thought

I have not wrote for a little while
Just trying to sort out my style
As we see Beryl likes to prance
She is the mistress of the dance
Les is all ways full of hype
Going on about a bit of bent pipe
Rod sits up most of the night
In the morning what a site
Keith’s upstairs in is house
All ways playing with is mouse
Cromwell aint so barmy
With all stories about the army
Postie aint such a bad host
With all his pictures to post
And if some one makes a blunder
Pom puts it right from down under
Well I think I have said enough tonight
I am going before I start a fight

John, The first time you have made me laugh.......
Well Done .....
Reminds me of .......
If you can make a promise and by that promise stand
If you can take a beating then shake the victors hand
If you can do a deed without looking for the glory
If you hold your tongue when you hear a gossips story
If you can make good better and try to make bad good
If you can keep you soul alive using happiness as the food
If you can carry on until life’s craggy road should end
Then here’s my hand my comrade
You’ve made a life long friend
I would like to say I wrote this but I did not .....but it has always stuck in my mind
I would love to know who wrote it ........(very likely Kandor ) as he was a Nechells kid

MY Word

....and John when you do write the words they make so much sense

from a non poet word stringer
your words always make me want to linger
On the lines as they scroll on down the page
They are so meaningful to people of every age

Thank you for all your amazing words John

Twas not me Graham, that leans a little too heavily on Kiplings 'If' for me..
I do base my stuff on published works at times though, I may use a key phrase ('headlights slide past the moon' is one) then build on that, I don't think I'm the only one either as I've seen stuff loosely based on Sir Walter Raleigh etc...just shows the amazing talent of that person who can write in so many styles.
But no, it's not mine.
Oops...I forgot why I started this thread, keep writing John, I enjoy it very much, I may even steal a few lines...smiles
