Joseph rae who changed his name from Joseph Abrahamson

Dear Gang
I am also looking for Joseph rae who changed his name from Joseph Abrahamson and was helping out Jacob Winter, Tailor at one time. I think in 1925 and then branched out into furniture. I believe he had his own shop. His period would have been 1925-1970. Before that he was in the army. as 17263 West Riding regiment and was born in leeds in 1896. Love to track his progress through the electoral and kelly records

Thanks a bunch,
gareth

No sign of either of these names in Birmingham Kellys, unless he is trading under Madam Rae, gown specialist.
There is one Joseph Abrahamson (probably not the one) on the electoral roll listed as at:
1925 35 Poplar avenue
1930 Flat 3 No 10 Islington Row
1939-50 No 19 Yewcroft avenue
1955 73 Fitzroy avenue

There is a Harold Joseph Rae at 54 Factory road in 1922 with Elizabeth & James Rae
Joseph Rae with Jacob & Freda winter at 314 Edward Road in 1925
Harold Joseph Rae & Winifred Rae at 541 college road, Erdington in 1927
I think only the second of these applies to you

I also know that he married Leah Taylor in 1930 in Leeds. S he died in Birmingham in 1941. He then married Hazel Mary Edge in 1957 in Birmingham.

Might help with the electoral rolls.

cheers,
gareth

No Leah Rae listed, but if he lived in , say, sutton coldfield, or somewhere else not part of brum, he wouldn't appear in the birmingham rolls

Thanks for the updates. Just to note that he might have reverted back to his old name of Abrahamson. Leah was also known as kitty.

Cheers,
Gareth
