IE7 Security Patch already Breached

Bernie as ever I am worrying and clicked on to thing to have a look. I pressed the tab to check out my computer to see if I had all the downloads and it came up to install these
Net Framework 3.5 service pack 1
" " 3.5 family update
(KB951847)x86
248.00 MB
It is taking forever to download and it sounds a lot to me, was it nessassary for me to do this. Shall I take it off when It has finished???
I do have my computer set to automatically do downloads

Bernie, when I read your warning I did the same as Patty with the same result. I find Windows/I.E. any Microsoft updates can be long winded and take time . I don't worry about it.
It being a Service Pack it is probably the original program plus all the updates to the present time . Make sure it does not cause any problems, some times service packs do. If it does just remove it.

Heres hoping Bill Gates boys have got it right........Arkrite.

You should already have the up to date security patches installed. My purpose in posting the warning was to alert folk to the flaw in the latest patch which to my knowledge is still there.

Just do not open any dodgy looking Word documents from folk you don't know.

Patty , dont worry. Windows XP is already on SP3 (service pack3 ) . They are just a collection of fixes and updates already issued but in a more organised form. Just download from Windows Update and they will sort themselves out. I have a number
of MS programs that have ServicePacks issued occasionaly.....Arkrite.
