Ice Cream Sellers

Shoothill has several photos of ice cream sellers in the Bull Ring. Must have been a popular 'fast food' in Victorian and Edwardian times. Note the two ladies beneath Nelson's statue tucking into their delicious (Italian ?) ice cream in the last image.

The first image shows two lads in a uniform. Was this something to do with the Market Hall? Viv.
