highest pub in Britain.jpg This is supposedly the highest pub in Britain, somewhere in Scotland, name of pub and location I do not know, maybe some member will know. The subject appealed to me. Erichighest pub in Britain.jpg

According to google, it is called The Tan Hill Inn, in North Yorkshire. Here is an inside view, with a dubious celebrity???? You can paint this one if you like Eric.

Tan Hill (1730 ft a.s.l.) wins by 300 feet - highest in Scotland in Wanlockhead (1430 ft a.s.l.)

Thanks Terry/Maurice, saw the pic in a BT news item, it referred to some girls stranded in a snow storm in 'the highest pub in Scotland' without giving location or pub name. Incidentally it's the first non Birmingham painting I have done for some time, but I do enjoy painting snow scenes, we do not seem to get much snow locally nowadays. I have framed it and hung it in my living room, gives it a Christmasy look. Eric

wow that is wonderful eric...i love winter scenes and i bet it look lovely in your living room...

Secret Britain did a programme a few weeks back about the Tan Hill Inn with presenter Ellie Harrison going there on her bycyle and stopping off for a drink and a chat with the landlady.
If you missed it you can watch it on BBC I player.
Great painting Eric.

Does my painting look like Tan Hill, or is it some other pub, I would like to find it's name and exact whereabouts ?? Eric
