Any thoughts...

I can make out.....

'Father Joseph Palmer
163 ???? ????? Shire? or Shoe? Ways
Smethwick'

Great. Thanks josietrue.

Yes Price Street, why didn't I see that... I even have Price Street from a recent census I looked at for his family!!

Is Six Ways an area of Smethwick does anyone know (sorry if it's obvious but I'm from the area).

I agree josie. I've just checked my old A-Z Birmingham street atlas that lists Price Street, Smethwick.

Thanks again everyone... and within minutes.
Don't know what I'd do without this site!
Just off out so not being rude by going quiet.
I assumed I'd have to wait a few hours for replies.

Any thoughts on the 'six ways'?

Six Ways was the junction of Windmill Lane, High Park Road, Soho Street, Moilliet Street, Grove Lane and Lower Cross Street. Information from Black Country History, but probably all changed now.

Just had a look at feedback from you all and compared it to the document in question.... and yes definitely 'Price Street Six Ways' Smethwick. Easy when you have it spelt out for you! (no pun intended).

Much appreciated all.
