Green Apples

Green Apples

In some remote corner of grand mama’s apple orchard
I did by chance meet a stranger.
My greeting to them was, if anything of an affable nature.
By some present misadventure, my salutation was somewhat kirt,
That by self inflicted punishment our meeting was to their hurt.

I, in insult, forbade to offer recompense by proffered hand of kinship,
Indeed, by my own action, their wound deterred towards friendship.

Oh, fool that I was ,for in my selfish sorrow a foe I fear did create,
Who, in their distress, an innocent was forced nie unto hate.

What thoughts are these that have no place in my mind,
For surely I was brought up to be of a gentlemanly kind.

If in my sorrow, I force others to endure my woe,
What of my future life, will it be that others decline to know.

Am I to remain friendless because dark sorrow fills my heart,
Which through my selfish anguish I inflict on another’s part.
Oh how I rue the day when in unbridled gluttony did I partake
Of grand mama’s green apple pie, and now, cursed with tummy acke.

Dear Rod

I have so very much enjoyed submitting my poems to this site, now I would like to make an unusual request from the poetry readers.

I do respect that no negative comments are ever given to submitted poems. This time I request most respectfully that my friends, who will always remain such, please make some comment on my last poem Green Apples.

This request is to help me in my attempt to write poems that the public would like.

Robert Requests That You Please Reply By Email To  [email protected]  your comments and criticisms will be passed on annonmously
