Four meals for Fourpence by Grace Foakes.
Mrs Foakes was born in 1901 died in 1979 ,her husband Reuben died in 1974.
They had been brought up in the East end of London and when in their later lives they lived in a nursing home Grace began to reminisce with Reuben about their childhoods and she wrote notes which she later turned into a book.
I really didn't want to put it down but at the same time didn't want it to finish,I loved it.
Although about the East End it could be about any of our cities at that time.
