ELIZABETH QUEEN MOTHER

Reginald.F.Horton

master brummie
Queen Mother

As daylight faded
And the setting suns rays
Disappeared below the horizon
Sadness spread through out all England
People they came from far and wide
Tears and their grief they could not hide
For the Queen Mother they did mourn
Men and women, children looking so forlorn
Elizabeth ,queen, her love and compassion
Amid the times of war She did not ration
From her heart and the throne
For all of her people she had shown
Restoring the faith to get the job done
She toured cities to embrace everyone
She stood among rubble smiling proud
talking and chatting to all the crowd
She won the respect and hearts
And love of all the British people
She stood taller than the tallest steeple
An English rose had passed away
A new role now she has to play
Among the flowers of Gods garden
From her heavenly throne on high
To watch over her people
From the Sky
