William Walter Dunn appears to be the only child of a William Dunn & a Sarah Eleanor Dudley. William & Sarah married in 1915 only for William to die in 1917. Sarah does re-marry (1929) but doesn't appear to have any more children. Ancestors mostly from Netherton/Dudley and looks fairly straightforward to trace them back.

Not so with Joan Ellen Harrison, can see her birth reg. but names are just too common to be sure of her parents without further info.

Ellen parker they called her nellie and Charles Harrison. Are the grandparents on Joans side. William and Joan divorced and she remarried someone else. Thanks for the info so far.

Joan Ellen Harrison was the daughter of Charles Dalton Harrison and Ellen Parker. Their marriage was reg. West Ham 1916. She was born in Cambridge and they definitely had at least one more daughter, Phyllis b1917 Cambridge,

Tracing this side further back is a little more difficult, their ancestors come from various places - Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Somerset.

Thats brilliant thank you to you both never fail to amaze me, i got most of it right except for George harrison i had James Harrison as charles father.

Where was charles harrison born and died?
Im getting his father as James Harrison born 1841 in Stratford west ham died 1952 and mother Harriett Ashford born 1858 in Bromley married 23 Dec 1897 her father is Reuban Ashford. And James father is John Harrison.

He appears to have been a Charles William Harrison. Ellen Parker married a Charles Dalton Harrison.

He was born 1894 in Hampstead.

Not sure when George and Mary Jane married - eldest child (Adolphus) born 1888 registered as Saffin but subsequent children reg as Harrison - first seems to be Charles elder brother William reg in 1890.

She had at least one other child prior to this, don't think it was George's though.

There is no marriage, though on freebmd there is a marriage for a Mary Jane Saffin, Jun 1896 Wellington, Som but with no other people listed.

There is a 1911 census entry for Mary Brice and her husband Sydney with their children - so I am not sure it is the right person.
This person is too young to be the Mary Jane who is Charles'mother

See 1911 census for Charles D

Definitely not the right marriage then. Couldn't work it out from just freebmd.

1911 is the right one.
Yes - I included the 1911 to show her age. Her baptism is on Ancestry with parents John and Jane as you posted earlier.

Mary Jane is Saffin on 1881 census and Harrison on 1891 but I can't find any Saffin marriage between those dates.

The Bryce marriage is not the right person as she is too young. See posts #22 and 24.

She is the niece of the correct Mary Jane Saffin, daughter of her brother William. No surprise that she's related with such a fairly uncommon name.
