Captain Smith, Titanic

Captain Smith of the Titanic, in Beacon Park.

I was talking the conservation officer the other day about this statue.

It was made by Captains Scots window for Stoke on Trent, who did not want it after the disaster, so Litchfield had it. Apparently Stoke on Trent have been trying to get it back for years, once Captain Smith was cleared of blame.
