An amazing photo of the construction of airship USS Macon. As part of the Goodyear-Zeppelin arrangement, the Luftshiffbau Zeppelin sent technical experts to Akron to train Goodyear employees in the design and construction of airships c.1930.

Izzy, just looking at that thing makes my stomach very nervous !
Here in Birmingham, Wolseley Motors at its Adderley Park Works, made engines, radiators and transmission gear for Vickers airships, and also supplied engines for some Italian airships.
The Company also did strip examination and testing of engines from Zeppelins brought down over Britain and France.
