Acorn Hotel Erdington

This Britain from Above image is the best photo yet that I’ve seen of the old Acorn in Erdington High Street. It was once a substantial pub, had a bowling green and was certainly a key place within the Erdington community. Pity it’s the sad, soulless looking place it’s become. I also found an advert from the British Newspapers Archive showing what was on offer at the pub. The advert goes back to 1909 - a poor quality image of the pub but it was obviously once a sizeable building being both pub and hotel. Viv.

John. Ron passed away in 2019 Rita is still alive but not in good health. I'm their son by the way

They also had an annexe built on the back , I had my wedding reception there in 1961.
