The bus in post 1 is, as far as I recall, unique. It had rear platform doors fitted. The rear if the bus as a result of the alteration looked decidedly odd for a Birmingham bus. It has an unusual ventilation system also fitted.
Lots of tram lines and trams here (little to do with route 11 I guess) but Kings Heath lost it trams in 1949 and Cotteridge in 1952. I hope I have the dates correct.
The pics of Bournville are a delight as I have many fond memories of there, particularly the Green which was where I went to college. I liked Bournville and I think that it is probably fairly unspoilt - to my eyes even after 60 years. When I passed through Bournville on my way to York a while ago I was delighted to see the Cadbury factory - still proudly bearing its name - plus the sports field and pavilion where I spent some happy times. It is not often my eyes moisten! :friendly_wink:
