371 coventry road Birminghambetween 1911 and 1920

Hi gANG,

I NEED A LOOK UP ON 371 COVENTRY ROAD. WHEN I LOOK VERY CLOSELY AT THE CARD IT SAYS 371 NOT 311. IT IS OVER 90 YEARS OLD. SORRY FOR THAT. ITS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SPOTTED THIS DISCREPANCY.
GARETH

Hi Gareth,

Maurice

Whereabout was 371 ?

Pretty sure I have a photograph of Coventry Rd between Chapman Rd and Regents Pk Rd, which has Caves Furniture shop on it. I'll have a look over the weekend.

In census returns Samuel is described as Polish and Phoebe as Russian.
Samuel Cave died December 25th 1920.Probate was granted to his Widow,Phoebe Cave 10th March 1921.
He had effects of £698 19s 9d

Here you go, Have added the Wales advert and one of Furniture dealer between Regents Pk Rd and Chapman Rd. Might help give you some insight about the area/furniture trade at the time.

By the way, the one with Caves on it was dated 1954
