Post 180, My grandad and his first wife lived in Witton Street sometime between 1914 and 1920 when they got divorced, I wondered if he drank in the Garrison, he died when I was just over one year old, never got to know him..

Again this is apparently Livery Street but I am not sure where as there are buildings both sides of the road, is up hill with a bend at the end, is it a road off Livery Street?

Our next selection are from Sheet A66 a few tours and a few random shot , first selection are down as a day out at Holliday Street depot 1st April 1992.I cannot put much of a commentary to them, but I will add anything I feel is useful.

Finally a view out the gates love the gates the lamps on the posts and is that a ghost sign opposite?

Next up The Old Union Mill, Heneage Street / Holt Street, 5th April 1992, well, those of you with old maps know where it is but its not like this now, forming part of Aston Science park it seems to be no more

Wasn't there an antiques centre there? Yes council run possibly highways depot.

There was a Public Works Department Depot in Holliday Street around 1968.

the next wander is titled in and around the canal waterways of Heneage street / Great Lister Street and the bridge.
The title may be a little lose but I thing the area is correct

I think these were taken beginning of April 1992, and so these empty bits of land will be hard to find, Great Lister Street may well be Lister Street as the former in not by the canal

another area which has no doubt been built on, nothing I can see is readily identifiable but as 30 years have passed its not surprising.

and finally we have a location we can find Lister Street Bridge , considerably more built on and much greener - actually pleasant alongside the canal side and I can imagine its a nice area to walk.

I would guess, and think it very likely that the phot here and those immediately after are of the Corporation Wharves in the map below

As I said yesterday first up is a tour around the University campus, first is the re-opening of the Pot of Beer on Great Lister Street, love the Holt Brewery Lettering, but pity about the inflatables strapped to the front.

Next is the old Delicia Cinema still standing 5th April 1992. looking rather lost with the student life going on around it. This looks rather different today and all the better for re purposing.

right next door is the student stronghold of The Sacks of Potatoes, ( edit thanks RobT )

and finally a view down Lister Street at the back of Pot of Beer, which of course is now called the Gosta Green, although a rather dark view you can just make out a ghost sign which is still visable on our old friend Street View.

the next few picture will be an eye opener for Dionysius//88 as they show the peace garden and church and former colonnade from Broad Street, my sheet offers a date of 1988/89 for the move of the Colonnade. First we have St. Thomas's church.

now a fine view of the immaculate gardens and the colonnade which is looking a lot better than in its Broad Street days.
