Rodway/Inshaw

Lots of info about Edwin online. He was a well known amateur painter and photographer. Died in 1965

He was an electric engineer and a keen amateur photographer. He was a member of the Manchester Amateur Photographic Society and the Athenaeum Graphic Club. He used a glass plate camera at first. Mr Edwin Dixon lived in Mellor, & in 1926 moved to Hazel Grove. He was also a keen amateur painter in water colour and oils. He went to life classes.
 
Whilst looking through some old books I have come across genealogical record of the Rodway family from John Rodway b 1470, also have a letter dated July 17 1917 on W.I. Rodway & Co headed paper which begins My Dear Gladys and ends your ever loving (something) father seems to be referring to a relative in the Great War who may have been buried and Uncle who may have depression

Oh no just thought Thant there may be someone out there who would appreciate it. Seems a shame to bin the letter especially as the letter head is so intricate and the contents may the missing part of the family jigsaw for someone.

What happened to W.I Rodway & Co of 16-18 Cornwall Street Birmingham? They had branches in London and Paris so the letter head says
 
totally agree with you autioneer...they would certainly be of interest to any surviving family...maybe you could hang onto the info for a while as you never know someone may read your post and get in touch with you..do you think you could post us a pic of the letterhead as we maybe able to do a bit of research
