1841 census

Hi everyone.

I am trying to find the enumeration district that covered Pershore Street in Birmingham in the 1841 census, could anyone please point me in the right direction? Any help much appreciated.

Hi Ben, I am looking for John and Mary Benham and their son Thomas. They were living on Pershore Street at the time and the father John worked as a Malt mill maker.

Hi Nicola, If you have access to ancestry, there is a John & Mary Benham at Lombard St. On the 1841 census which I think is very close to Pershore st? The census listing shows John aged 60, an iron founderer, Mary aged 55, & also a Mary Benham aged 20. There is also a Sarah Benham aged 65 on Lombard St. On census in case a relation.

On Ancestry Pershore Street is to be found:

However I can't see the surname Benham but the writing is not easy to read. Perhaps they moved there after the census date?

Hi Maz.

Yes I was so excited when I first found this one, turns out it's John's parents :) thanks so much though.

On findmypast you can search using the street name but no one likely comes up.

Probably just another family that were missed by or avoided the census takers.
