Thank you so very much indeed. The story behind this family is quite fascinating. The 1921 census shows Ada Charlotte Sant as a cycle manufacturer with the business address of 18 Aston Street, Birmingham. In 1919 her husband William Henry Sant was killed at the same address following a gas explosion. So for Ada to continue the business there proves again the stoicism of that generation. She was left to provide for 3 Daughters, so her choices would probably have been very limited.If you look at the photo in post #5 Brian, I think this quite probably shows the front of #18 (to the left). But shall have to do a bit more research to confirm.
