i watched the display at 22:30 last night,makes you wonder just what is up there flying about

We had a couple of (I think?) buzzards flying over the house yesterday - sounded like they were having a bit of a barney......

Nice moon last night too - low in a hazy sky so not as sharp detail as usual:-

But - if you get a clear night (like last night) you can see the difference in sharpness:-

Total lunar eclipse visible from Birmingham next month - will be hard to see well as moon will rise in eclipse phase:-

Remember to look for the "Harvest Supermoon" tonight if the clouds allow it.
The first of three consecutive supermoons of 2025 will appear in our skies on Tuesday night.
The full Harvest Moon rises in the UK at around 18:20 BST on 7 October.
It will be the largest and brightest full Moon of the year so far and the first supermoon since November 2024.

I have a Dovecote in my garden & there are usually 3 or 4 doves flitting around. Yesterday i found one of the doves dead in the dovecote ( such lovely birds close up } This morning i counted 11 doves in the garden so i was wondering if they were having a wake for their passing comrade.
