Hi Ableach. Not sure if you are still on this forum. I have just come across the program for the festival concert.1966.

I am Mr. Bleach's son. Unfortunately, he sadly died earlier this month and I was fishing around here to see if there was any evidence behind the family myth that he was Jeff Lynne's Choir Master. It made me chuckle to hear he had a nickname. I'm not sure if it was an affectionate one or not :-) but it has made me smile anyway. Thank you for posting.

Just to correct your photo ID - my Dad (Mr. Bleach with an 'L') was on the right of the back row.

I'm not sure if my mum went to Longmeadows but she was from Shard End and born in 1945 and still very much alive. She always uses to say she 'went to school with' Benny from Crossroads so it sounds like she may have done.

Anyway, does anyone remember her, Judith Stokes, she has 2 younger sisters Lynda and Jacqueline and they lived on Gorsefield Road of which I have many many happy memories.

Thanks

Great days. We went there between 1976 - 1981 and were some of the first Asians to attend. We were from Alum Rock and caught the 55 bus which took ages. We all remember the skinheads on our first day lol....but the teachers were great! Especially Mr Caulfield. They were scary though!!!!

Yes it was a great school. We went there around the same time as you. Had a fun time there and the teachers were scary but ok!!!!
Only went to the library once and that was to see Mr Higgins so he could transfer me to 6th form at Washwood Heath!!!
