Colmore flats Hospital Street (now YMCA)

So I'm just reading Carl Chinn's book on Birmingham Council Houses, "Homes for People" and he mentions the first private flats built in Hospital St in Birmingham. Have these survived until now as the YMCA flats? TIAScreenshot_2024-10-10-21-12-14.png

Many thanks Lyn, I have seen the Hospital Street thread but unfortunately I couldn't find any reference to these flats.

They were originally called Colmore flats and privately built. My first teacher at primary school lived in one of them in the 50s.

Think they're now called Henrietta Lofts. Here's some info from a press report :

The 24 apartments in the city centre, called the 'Henrietta Lofts', have been developed by YMCA, available to young people who have previously been homeless. They offer independent living to people who are on low incomes after getting supported help off the streets.

The building is being leased for five years by the YMCA, and the work was carried out thanks to a £200,000 grant from the Government as part of a programme to bring empty buildings back into use as residential developments.
