Does anyone remember what the Wine Lodge was on Blackwood Rd, was it a pub or an outdoor? Also what it is now

What date are we talking about? The more info you can give the more likely someone is to respond.

it was 1962

As it is listed in the 1962 phone book as just "Wine Lodge" (one of several) I would assume it was an off licence. As it doesn't have a number it is difficult for me to know what it is today.

Iv'e got vague recollections of it from my childhood in Streetly c1967-1977. It was in a small parade of 1960s-1970s shops in an otherwise entirely residential area. I haven't been back since my youth, but I doubt that it has changed much. It certainly wasn't a pub, I seem to recall it was just a typical off-licence shop. But I was too young to drink then, so I don't think ever went in.

The wine lodge has gone. shops still there except for the Greengrocer. Newsagent, hairdresser, accountants, opticians, streetly stores, post office, butchers, vet. If anyone is on Facebook, there is a Streetly Local History section.
