I was told this photograph dated from 1954 and, indeed, Harry Eccles held the licence between January 1953 and May 1955 so the estimate is pretty good ....

Jack wood's fish and chip shop was about a doors width from the Kings Arms

I lived at 5/9 William st. Dad was a regular at the kings arms. We lived there 1951 to 1959
Many happy memories of growing up in the area.
