Wait till we get a response 1930 a bit before my time it may have gone by the 50s. Dek

Just read Macca,s post he,s answered the question

The building's still there but called something else, someone might be able to get it on streetview for us, bit technical for me!

The Olive Branch was situated at 182 Adderley Road Saltley, its now known as The Diamond Suite. It must have been rebuilt at some stage as the current building has a round bay window whilst Lynns picture above doesn't. Its been mentioned on here before.

The Olive Branch was a pub Michael often visited in his teenage years as his friends Dad ran it. His friend worked across and up the road at the wire drawing mill.

Here is a pic of "The 3As" and confirmation of The Olive Branch pubs address . Max

Hi all

I was reading the Gas house tavern thread and I was wondering if the Diamond Suite ( formerly The Olive Branch) a rebuild in the late 1920's or early 30's is of the same or identical architecture?

Hi Pudding

Hope you are keeping well, as far as I can remember the only architectural similarity was they both had small forecourts and bay windows at the front other than that I don't think there were any other similarities.

Hi Phil, thank you for your reply and I am fine thanks the reason why I ask is the two photos that you have posted on the gas house thread looks like the same style of front of the building and looking at the 1950 street map/plan that Mikejee postedgas house street plan 1950.jpg

A location plan and a photo of the building a couple of years back, no exterior changes to the original building except for signage and decoration. It's been decorated again since this photo in a sort of battleship grey. Te building in the original photo was replaced by the one that is posted here.
