As I have said on the other Lawley Street thread, it was definitely The Viaduct, I remember it well. Next to Belmont Passage and in the shadows of the railway arches.

When I worked for Tommy Baumber in Belmont passage late sixties one of our mechanics used to spend as much free time as possible drinking in there, pleased when I moved on to Esso Bromford as a contractor working for Tommy.

I know the mechanic you are referring to. He did spend an awful amount of time in the pub. Stricken with the shakes when I knew him.

I remember Tommy senior and junior, also Eric and Harry.

Do you remember Ronnie Misselbrook.

I also spent a lot of time down at Bromford contracting to Spencer Abbott.

Hello Bob

I only worked at the yard for two weeks then Esso for 12 months on nights, this would have been 1968 as I started for SM&BP in January 1969. Eric used to recover the broken down Esso vehicles so often saw him, Tommy senior I met occasionally when collecting my wages from the yard, can't remember any other staff except those I worked with at Esso.
