Has anyone any information about 6th worcestershire regiment ,would be gratefull for any info:unconscious:

He was a Regular Soldier. He enlisted into Worcester Regiment on 12 Dec 1904 aged 18 years 9 months. He signed on for 3 years with the colours and 9 years on the reserves.

He would have come out of Army in December 1907. Back to civilian life but on the reserve list.
He most probably was mobilised on 5 August 1914
He landed in France on 12 August 1914, most likely with the 2nd Bn Worcester
Sometime in October 1914 he received a GSW to his left forearm (Gun Shot Wound the term also used if wound by shrapnel)
Ended up in Alexandra Hospital, Cosham (Portsmouth) & (Birmingham Daily Post list for 28 Nov 1914)
13 May 1916 wounded accidentally GSW right foot with fracture. evacuated to No. 22 Casualty Clearing Staion
14 May Base hospital Le Treport France
Returned to Hospital in UK 20 May 1916

His Medal Index Card also shows he served with the 3rd Bn Worcester. probably the battalion he got posted back to after recovery from his first wound.

Discharged from the army due to injury 26 Feb 1917

Apart from his three medals Mons Star, Victory & War medals he would have also been awarded the Silver War Badge

Sometimes a WW1 soldier's service papers or pension details can be found on Ancestry Uk, and if they are there, it is a case of trying to decipher the handwriting.
