Can anyone remember my nans shop -Mrs Ellen Wills - it was a Florist at 125 Summer Lane - almost opposite the entrance to Bridge Street.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Shop marked in red..

Hi GazSutton,,,,,,,, Thank you for your posting which has jogged my leetle grey cells with a welcome
waft of nostalgia,,,strange how certain smells can reactivate memories over so many years.

I fondly remember your Nans shop on "th Lane" and the occassion that I as a nipper in 1962/3 collected
a large order for my Mother and local family, I had never seen such wonderful bouquets and beautiful
flowers in my life ,,the aromas were so nice they seemed to overpower a foggy November day.

Carefully loading the numerous bunches on to my "Go-ey" 4 wheels + plank+ big box// Actually a
Ferrari 330 Testa Rossa Le Mans 62 Winner,,,In my young mind, then carefully wheeled it home,
Not a stem broken or a petal crushed & sixpence in my pocket,,Given to me by I think a lovely lady
who must have been your Nan, a kind person who smelled as sweet as her beautiful flowers,,

Thank Gaz & Family,,,John Y
