Bradley George Charles of Birmingham

Hi! My Gr Gr Grandfather was George Charles Bradley born Birmingham approx May 1832 and his parents are John Bradley and Elizabeth Nash.
I recently was given advice to email the Birmingham archives and the Birmingham Library as looking for Birth of George and his parents seems to be impossible on line as nothing there that I can find. I cannot find any record of his parents marriage either. As I live in Australia and just needing a bit of advice to get on the right track, but hard to search records if I am living here in Aussie. The est. time of arrival in Aust was 1839. I don't have much to go by, but like his son George, John Bradley is also listed as a hairdresser/barber on the marriage and death of George. Maybe his parents did not legally wed or maybe George was born somewhere other than Birmingham as his spouse came from Wolverhampton. But Birmingham is stated on the certificates.
thanks!

Re: George Charles Bradley of Birmingham

Hi Leslie Ann welcome to the forum. This could be a mammoth task as all church records would have to be checked as he was born before registration. The IGI is a good source but he is not listed there either. I have the same problem with my gt grandmother born Elizabeth Ball in 1782 in Wellingbrough Nothampton. I have her birth date from a family bible but can't confirm it or find any siblings.
Maybe someone will come up with a suggestion.

Hello Wendy - nice to hear from you! Yes, it is fun and games when our ancestors hide from us! I have another Gr Gr grandfather from Dublin who is also play games with me! Yes, it is a mammoth task looking for stuff. I have also tryed the familysearch site and others. I noted a couple of diffrent yrs for his birth. So he est time of birth I am going by is the fact he is listed as 60 yrs and 3 mths of age when he died in 1892 in Australia. On his marrige it is a couple yrs diffrence I think. Some also suggested he may have been actually born in Staffs. George's spouse was born there. I noted it listed Birmingham Warwick on one of my certificates and Birmingham Staffs on another - confused! I also noted that all children born to George Bradley were bapitsed in the RC church here in QLD. So I am guessing he was RC and his parents were also. Oh well, I shall keep hunting! Good luck with your research too.
Thanks again
Cheers from QLD Aussie
