hi pam
my old dutchess and myself trained a young couple to be the manager at the stores some years ago
they took over from the old italian guy after they moved him out from the pub as he allowed druggies to smoke the wackie baccy
but the fact of the matter he could not control the customers they was a law unto themselves so he had to be removed
we trained her at the red lion pub in acocks green many years ago
i pass it quiteoften but its still a busy pub and i suspect itsthe wrong clientele still it aint my problem any ,more the pub game now aint worth a light
best wishes astonion

Hi astonian, lol the time i was mostly in there was in the late 70`s and 80`s, i know at that time was i think two brothers that ran it, before that i think was a local woman not sure memory gets the better of me, i think also the name as changed back and fourth from the stores to the harborne n then the stores again, i havn`t been in there for a number of years so i dont know what people it attracts, but it was always nown for people that enjoyed a tipple or two every day n night back when i used it it used to open at haft10 in the morning, then shut just after dinner and then open again on the evening. thankyou very much for your info!!
