Well, if you're talking about a trip into Town then a visit to The Old Royal might be in order. There are now some top class restaurants in the vicinity too.

EnjoyEngland describes it thus: "Situated in the heart of Birmingham, this traditional pub is a listed building, has links with Queen Victoria and has a 100 year history.The Old Royal pub, now a listed building, is over 100 years old and still has the original stained glass windows. As confirmed in an 1899 lease, the pub started life as the Red Lion and since then it has also been known as The White Lion. There is a lion weathervane on the top of the central turret and lions feature in the stained glass windows that, like the exterior of the building, are original."
