Hi all,

I just wondered if anybody knows anything about the statue that used to be at the Smallbrook Queensway island next to the Chinese builing relplica in the middle of the island underpass. It was a lady lying down by some water. I believe my family was connected in some way with the design or making of it (or so my Grandmother used to tell me). I think it's been moved somewhere else now.

Cheers,

Have a look at 'See Birmingham by Post Card' #381 for a picture of the statue and some more info.

Again thanks to you all for your help. Apparently the sculpture is of Hebe and was Sculpted by Robert Thomas in 1966. I need to find out now whether my family did have any links with him.

Cheers,

In a post from 2008 somebody mentioned that they might know who the Hebe statue model was. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
