Doe Street

My grandfather lived in Doe Street up to when it disappeared under the Aston University development, does anyone have any details of it ?

A map c 1910 is attached. In 1900 it had a pub ,Th duke of york, but this had disappeared by 1940 and much of the area was industry

Hi - my Dad remembers a Nellie Ward who lived in one of the four houses with her husband. My grandparents moved in about 1936 ish

i remember nellie ward very well, she moved to duke st just down the rd right next to the duke of york pub, she was a lovely woman, we used to play on the slack heap facing your
dads house, we had to climb a wall to do so till someone chased us off terry

Does anybody remember Frank Sumner and his children Audrey, Fred, Ed and Joan?
