Clayton Ethel

Hi Everyone,

Wonder if anyone one can give some advice please. I went to Birmingham to buy yet some more birth certs but when i put in the one for Ethel Clayton 1893 he came out and said that one could not be found, has anybody got any idea's how i can get a copy from elsewhere or would it be better to find out if she was baptised.

I am trying to eliminate different Clayton's to make sure i have the right family her father's name is George for definate but want to see if any different mother's name comes up.

The reference is Ethel Lizzie clayton ,September quarter 1893 6d 53.
No more births for Ethel clayton born in 1893.

Thanks for replying, i have Ethel Lizzie's birth cert there was another one i had found dates are out a bit but thought i would try for this one aswell just to double check my rellie was Ethel Elizabeth Clayton and the Ethel Lizzie one could well be correct but have just been double checking and triple checking everything.

It is 1887 for the 6d 424 reference.
But in your other posts about this person posts you mention her brothers and the 1891 census shows Edward and Herbert
with their father George and mother Kate.No Ethel.It appears the one born around the reference you give had a father John.
1901 has them with the addition of Ethel and Arthur.
I wouldn't expect her to have a different mother as George had been maried to Kate Adderley since 1885.

Thank you for replying, I am trying to find out if there could be another George marrying somebody else with a daughter named Ethel Elizabeth who i know for certain is the right family member and also on Ethel's marriage cert she had Herbert Clayton as a witness so i do know she had a brother called Herbert for definate.
The problem came when someone pointed out a family of Clayton's on familysearch site which matched with the Kate Adderley and George but i was told that George Clayton's father was William i know now that they are not 100 per cent after what i sent her in the post and George Clayton had a father named Edwin not William so i am just trying to double check everything and also or the people i have tried to make contact with about George Clayton with the father as Edwin do not know.

It could will be the right family but i am just being cautious, i think my next step would be to go to the libray and look at the electrol registers.

Hi, don't want to throw a spanner in the works, but i just found a christening on familysearch, while looking for something else, for Ethel Clayton, and thought it might be useful. The birth is 1897. Hope it doesn't just confuse things.

Thank you for that information, i do not think it is the right Ethel as her dad was George Clayton, i know this because i have marriage cert.

You never know though it could be a relative so i will keep the information and look into it more.
