Charles Henry Fellows

Just this week I have been told that Charles left home and went to live in France where he had met a lady ;) while seriving out there in WW1.
Did he marry her????
We may never know,
I have searched all the records I can, but do not know if I can search in France, do not know the area he went to.
Perhaps if someone out here in France reads this they may be able to search, who knows.
Time only will tell.

Hi Sparkhill lad,
I have been away for a few weeks, looking for work outside of Michigan. I am now back for awhile and happily cruising this wonderful site.
Please check your private messages, because I want to send you a GEDCOM of my tree. I have pruned the tree so to speak, of all relatives not directly related to the Fellows side, so it should be more manageble for you. Do you have Family Tree software to view GEDCOM files?

All the best Sparky'

Fellows family

Hi
I have noticed the information reference the fellows family and believe that the Alfred Fellows listed is from my side of the family.
My great grandfather was an Alfred Fellows who married a Hinda Hoff.He lived in Deritend in Birmingham. My grand father was a charlie fellows.
My mother has been tracing the family tree and said that Alfred came from a large family and he had a sister Emily (pemmy). I believe that it is from the same family.
Please let me know if you read this.
My father is Michael Fellows same name as me.

I remeber that on an earlier census he was registered as living in Cuckoo Road in Aston from his birth I believe.
His father was William and mother was Mary.

Hi FELLOWKEV and MICK 98ie

I am tracing my husbands family of Fellows, from Aston and Hockley, the latter generations were Jewellers. I dont think we are connected. But, I was interested in Micks remark about Emily being called Pemmy. Now was this a general nick name for Emily? By husband remembers a gt. aunt Pem. I have not found one on his tree yet.

Anyhow I am stuck with the marriage of one, Alexander Fellows to Ann Watson. All I have is the birth certificate of Alexander Fellows born 17th October 1865. Park Road , his father was Alexander Fellows and his mother Ann Fellows formerly Watson. He was a journeyman jeweller. In 1871, Alexander took a second wife Louisa Kimbly. I can find no record of Alexander's first marriage to or the death of his wife Ann so I dont know whether she died or they were divorced. Any help would be appreciated.

Incidentally I have downloaded all the fellows census names for 1881 and 1851 if you want me to look something up.

Thanks Sue for your reply,

Sadly none of the dates & address' fit in with my research and looking also at you other names they too do not connect in my tree.
I wish you well with your research and thanks for posting your details, I'm sure there is a Fellows family there somewhere who will be gld to share your information.

I don't know if any of you are tracing the Fellows family back to the eighteenth century - but I have Fellows in my family from Wolverhampton - maybe an early connection somewhere.

There was a Mr.Fellows who had a shop on the corner of Coventry Rd/Lily Rd, South Yardley, he sold all sorts of electrical items, irons, toasters, radios etc he also did house wiring & repairs to electric items, circa 1945?. Len.

Hi
I am a newbie to this forum and hope that someone may be able to help. I am looking for anyone with connections to Lucy Fellows and her family. There is mention of her in previous message marrying Joseph James Twining. That is correct, Lucy and Joseph and their three children emigrated to Australia in 1912. Also going downunder was Lucy's sister Emily and her husband and family. Plus youngest sister Nellie who married into the Jeffcoat family.

Hey sparkhill lad, I hope this Fellows connection is fruitful for you. Exciting isn't it? Let me know if you ever find that elusive connection with my own line of Fellows'

All the best
Thanks Maryanne...welcome to the forum
Kevin

Hello Kevin

Ron Twining will be delighted with the connections made through this forum. You mentioned Charles Fellows who sent to France, have you been able to find anything in his soldiers papers. Ancestry has a raft of these up on their site amongst them I think pensions, if Charles received a pension then perhaps his address is in them. I have been doing some research in France so can give you a few tips on what to do and who to write too for information. But bear in mind that a lot of the WWI docs were destroyed during WWII. However I maybe telling you about something you have already looked into.
regards
Mary Anne

I appear to be getting mixed up with who is descended from which Fellows sibling apologies. However the following has come into my hands from a friend who looked at two cemeteries here in Melbourne both of which are online and searchable.

Emily Emms died 1932, her husband John in 1950 they are burried at Coburg Cemetery here in Melbourne with one son.

Nellie Jeffcoat died 1969 as did her husband, they are buried together at Fawkner Cemetery with one son.

James Joseph Twining born Birmingham, eldest son of Lucy and Joseph is buried at Gallipoli - he died on 25 April 1915. There is a website Spirit of Australia - which is being established to commemorate Australian soldiers who died at that place. It includes photo's, cuttings from newspapers family information, you will find and entry for JJT.

Hi Maryanne... no worries about the mix up--I have done it myself before.
Sparkhill Lad and I have been talking to one another for quite awhile now, hoping to find connections in our Fellows family lines. I am glad you have found a connection with him, he will be very helpful to you.
Please carry on posting information about your line of the Fellows'. It is immensely interesting and useful.
Several branches of my line of the Fellows family have simply disapeared from Birmingham (and England) during the early 20th century; I am suspecting emigration to Australia and Canada (or America, like my family)
Anyway, have a good day
Kevin
