Hi,

Baker st, where I grew up, in Small Heath wasn't a long St, yet it still had 'small businesses' Can anyone recall these?
Browns removals (their gates made good goal posts!) A small shop called Violet's (late 50's) A 'spray paint shop' can't remember the name, my mom worked their for a time and later the nephew of who ran it was a mate of mine. Their was some kind of scrapyard too?
Butlers at the top is already covered in Lucas memories.
My families name was Maddox, followed by Dearn, ta,

Sorry that is Baker St - Sparkhill not Baker St Small Heath.
It seems everyone remembers the Barbers - bit of a notorious family!

My Dad went to school with some of the Barbers and remembers them well! Dad lived at number 55 with his parents Irene Regan (nee Cooper) and Arthur Regan, and grandparents George and Ada Cooper. Dad's best friend was Brian Elkington, who was related to Lizzie Barber. George Cooper used to have a milk and coal round too. Do you remember my family at all Bernie?
