Albutt Family

Carolann

Journeyman Brummie
I am trying to find information on Alfred Thomas Albutt born c1893 and
married to Amy Sheppard born 1895.
I am hoping someone will see this, maybe family and get in touch.
Carol

I can't find a birth for either of them in the right period, but the marriage (which you may already know) was 1st quarter 1918, Birmingham vol 6d page 467.
There is a birth registered of Clara L Albutt, 3rd quarter 1918, Birmingham, vol 6d page 369, mother's maiden name Sheppard.
There is only one mention of a Alfred Thomas Albutt in the electoral roll, in 1920 at no 2 Camden St, St Pauls distrct (Ladywood/Hockley) with a lot of other people.
Amy Albutt appears a lot, seemingly the wife of Thomas Edward Albutt, at house 6 court 15 Cromwell Street, Duddeston with Lily Elizabeth and Rose May Albutt as well.

Hello Lloyd,
Thankyou for the information on the Albutt family.
On the 1920 Electoral Roll was Amy not mentioned with Alfred Albutt.
I wonder if it is the same Amy with Thomas Albutt in Cromwell St,
Duddeston,it seems strange.
I really appreciate your help.
Thankyou
Carol

Hello Carol

I dont know if you (or anyone else) can help me. I am researching my Dads family and am looking for a Nellie Norris, born around 1889, who apparently married an Albutt in Birmingham.

Any information would be reall great.

Hi,
My father's sister - née Hazel May Reynolds - married an Alfred Albutt around the outbreak of WW2. The marriage didn't last very long, I'm told because Hazel didn't want to leave her home in West Cornwall to move to Birmingham with Alfred after the war, but it did lead to the birth of a son - Reynold Albutt - in 1941. My cousin Reynold has lived in South Africa for many years but would like to know more about his father and family. Does any of this link with your Albutt family research? I would love to hear from you if it does. Many thanks for your help, Ken

In 1881 census my grandfather who had a shop on Lichfield Road Aston had an Alfred Albutt age approx 25 working there as a grocers assistant. Any connection?

Thanks for the suggestion. No immediate connection apparent but I'll add it to the research to-do pile for my cousin!
