I think The Exchange was a Berni Inn in the 1970s situated on the ramp in Stephenson Place which led up to New street station.Definitely Stephenson Place. Over many, many years the restaurant hosted regular events for sporting organisations as well as local trade organisations. Although much later, two clippings below from the British Newspaper Archives. Viv.
Yes it was I went there a few times .It was the place where I first tasted duck .When they served it to me I said I would never eat all that cus it was a half a duck and it covered my whole plate . Little did I know by the time you got down to the eating part there was not much meat on it !!!! Lucky i had chips and salad with it as well.I think The Exchange was a Berni Inn in the 1970s situated on the ramp in Stephenson Place which led up to New street station.
