Hello all,
Looking for some assistance and hoping you may be able to help.
Back in 1940 before the Blitz, my Grandmother Naomi Cameron left North Scotland to work in Birmingham as a school teacher. She lived at 269 Hagley Road in Edgbaston, a short walk from St Augustine's Church and worked at what I believe was known as Beeches Rd Junior Secondary School in Great Barr before (I think) this became Aldridge Rd School?!
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how I might go about obtaining any photographs of the school or finding out some more information on the school and area as a whole? I have been in touch with Birmingham City Council but they do not seem to have much in the way of records.
Any advice gratefully received!
Matt
