  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Future of Buses

Well it seems something of a joke; Birmingham and other large conurbations are broke. Maybe they see it as a way to claw back something from the fares.
Many rural services rely on subsidy from the local authority anyway.
 
I have been following this from afar, mostly BBC & Guardian. Taking a deep breath, I see most in Birmingham government as having little of no experience in actually running anything. I had read the article that Mike posted previously, and it seems that decisions are all/mostly ideologically based for control. As a dear friend would say "we have the inmates running the asylum". And add to the pile the infamous Oracle debacle.
More to Alans point, it would seem there "is no one size fits all." Dr E Deming (who I was blessed to be in some of his classes) had a saying, "if it's not the same its different." And should be treated as such. Rural service will not be the same as city services, an attempt to make them so I doubt will work/be successful.
