I have a relative of my husband at 5 Cathcart street as a shopkeeper. Her name was Clara Bradnock. Any history or local knowledge would be useful thanks.
Clara is listed in directories there from at least 1932 (though not in 1924). She is not there in 1943 either. Indeed in both those years no 5 is not listed, so was probably only a shop for the period she was there. It's position is marked in red on the map c1950 below
The only photo I have of Cathcart Street is of number 35 which was at the other end of the street over the other side of the Inkerman Street junction. Though there would not have been much architectural difference between number 35 and number 5.
Hi, my first post so please bear with me! My Nan, Marjorie Thompson and Step grandfather Charlie Thompson lived in Cathcart Street and whilst on Ancestry I came across these residence particulars. I don’t know if they’ve been posted before but they may be of interest
