Blitz spirit

Janet Hunt

master brummie
Did anyone manage to catch the programme on BBC2 last night. "Blitz spirit with Lucy Wordsley" it was on at 9pm.

Predominantly covers the realities of the Blitz in in London, but also mentions Birmingham. It puts into perspective how bad things were on the homefront.

The historian tells the stories of six people who lived through the Blitz, featuring archive footage and readings from personal biographies, oral history collections, government records and private, unpublished diaries. Lucy visits key locations including the Imperial War Museum archive in London and the Mass Observation archive at The Keep in Sussex

Well worth a watch its an hour and half long though.

We watch Lucy frequently although we have not seen that show. Knowing that London was hit very hard but so was Birmingham and Coventry. I follow closely the events of WW2 and it seems there is little focus other than London.

Totally agree Richard! But then nearly everything is all about London.
