  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now

An biography of the very last British soldier of world war one, he was 111 years old and died in 2009, well worth a read.
 
I agree, I have a copy and it is a good book. Harry comes over as a tough character, which he would've had to be, as a Lewis gunner.

If you enjoy reading books on The Great War then I recommend you try Terry Carter's "Birmingham Pals", Eddy.
