YOUNG Alfred & PEARCE May

Gwynfor

knowlegable brummie
I am looking for any information regarding Alfred Young and May Pearce who married in Oct 1915 in Aston, I think May's Father was John Thomas Pearce b abt 1860 and her Mother was Eliza Elizabeth b abt 1864, I can't seem to find any records for them hoping someone can help.
I have attached a photo of Alfred in his uniform does anyone recognise the regiment.

Thanks Ladylinda the information was great, the Census records look like they are the right family but I can't understand why the head of the family changes his name from Thomas Pierce to Howard T Pearce also in the 1911 Census he calls himself John Thomas Pearce, it must be the same person because of the address and ocupation. My relation May Pearce was born 1895 in Aston but on the 1901 Census it says May is 11 years old and on the 1911 Census she is 16 years old. I have ordered the Marriage certificate for May Pearce and Alfred Young so that should clear up May's Father's name and also May's age, I am also trying to find records for Albert Young which I am not having much luck with.

Hi, I too noticed the anomaly with May's age. I did check the original and it said the same. It may be a case of the enumerator mis hearing what was said?
Also if May was born in 1890, she would have been listed on 1891 census.
There are just 2 births registered B'ham for a May Pearce 1889-1896
Births Jun 1895
May Pearce Aston 6d 354
Births Sep 1895
May Pearce Aston 6d 398

The marriage cert should help a lot especially in tracing Alfred
