No Probs it be good to see the pub full on match day its dead in the week.

Cant wait for the season to start new manager and see that very old Pub full.

Used to be full 10+ years a go on non match days all the factory workers and locals.

Spent some of my childhood in the beer garden in the yew tree on the swing and that helicopter play apparatus thingy

There's photo on the forum from 1970 of the Yew tree.

I think the photo's have gone curry and chips after the forum was hacked but it would be lovely if someone could post them again?. I hope they get their trade back too?. Jean.

Not the 1970 photo you were looking for, this one was taken in 1963. It looks like it was taken at the beginning of the bad winter of that year.

curry & chips

If you run your mouse slowly over the thumbnail photo, you will see it is dated 1963, also if you open the photo you will see the title and date at the bottom. Though as with most photos posted to the forum unless taken by ourselves dates cannot be guaranteed.

Went to Yew Tree yesterday, new coat of paint not the orginal one, but looks good.

Inside hasnt changed still old style but clean.old style bar.

They even got sky sports which is something they havent had for 10 years.

The best news is its only £2.60 a pint on Ginuess everywhere is nearly £3.00 or over. Gets my thumbs up.

......Also go taking to someone who had been drinking there since 1963 he said round the back, what is now car park. play area for kids was once a bowling green never knew that.
