Yew Tree Farm

tali

master brummie
The scene of tragic Carl Bridgwater's death at Yew Tree Farm- is this the address?
Gospel Ash Rd, Bobbington,DY7 ?
Is the farm still abandoned
-if so how long has it remained unoccupied?

No Tali - this isn't the correct address....

The place concerned is just off the Kidderminster Road, near Stourton.

The farm was empty for a number of years, but - when I passed it a couple of weeks ago - I noticed that it has been re-vamped and refurbished and looks an absolutely beautiful property.

Myself and companion at that point began a discussion over whether you could actually live in a property which had such a tragedy associated with it? While not being able to forget it's history - obviously - I said that I didn't think it would affect my ability to live in such a gorgeous building. My friend said that they didn't think that they could.......

OFT - Do you recall the Bolton Rd ,Small Heath, Poltegiest reported in News of the World in late 70s , early 80s , or the Taunton Rd Washwood Heath stone throwings?

Dear Tali,

Thanks for the reply and links.....

You would imagine that a 'change of name' might be a small step in the right direction if trying to sell a property where something so unsavoury had occurred...

Funnily enough, we've just been discussing the 'would you or wouldn't you?' question regarding (the notion of living at) Yew Tree Farm on the W.M.G.C. Forum. Personally speaking, I have to admit that I don't think the matter would concern me unduly. (And that's not just a feeble attempt at 'bravado', honestly). Needless to say, you could never forget what had happened at the site, but I don't believe a place should necessarily be seen to 'pay' for things which occurred there(?) Some had called for the site to be razed to the ground, but such an action wouldn't eradicate knowledge of the tragedy itself, of course.......

I do recall the Thornton Road 'stone throwing' case very well. It is allegedly being covered to some degree in a (supposedly) forthcoming book on UFOlogy (for some reason??)

The other matter - the Small Heath case - doesn't ring any bells, so any info. / leads you might have would be greatly appreciated please?

Best wishes,

Nick

Pinpoiting YTFarm was a right bugger!......as a day later i was thumbing through A-Z and YTFarm was located on the other side! so i think i got it wrong - as i think it's the closest one on the right hand side and not the one on the left!
As for Bolton Rd - have no other details - it will require a delve into NOTW archives
There have been a few more recent Brum ones in the Evening Mail - i assume you are aware of those
Got a few more experiences from friends which i will let you know of.
Regards

Thanks for the reply Tali.....

Yew Tree Farm indeed appears to be the property that you have outlined in this link: https://www.mouseprice.com/PropertyDe...ctionID=260478 though it takes a fairly keen eye to make the association now, it seems!! I've seen it - generally whilst passing by on the main road - a few times over the years, but, except for my most recent visit to the area of a couple of weeks ago, it had always been in it's derelict state. I was surprised to see it in it's 'renovated' condition, to be honest. There has evidently been some major alterations to the place - including a substantial wing added. If you look at the farm as shown in the vid pic on this link: https://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/november/9/newsid_2516000/2516015.stm and then refer to photograph 2 on the link (above) that you found, then you can just make out the similarities in architecture / style, etc.

I'm aware of a few 'ghostie' cases that have come up in the Evening Mail over recent years, but, to be honest with you, too much media coverage appears to be being given to the shenanigans of silly, 'Most Haunted' style clubs and associations, rather than actual 'hauntings' of late !!!:D:D

If you see anything of interest in the local press Tali - or anyone else on the forum, for that matter - then you know who to contact!!;) I generally rely on media web sites to keep abreast of any paranormal stories, but, sadly, a lot of these pages aren't exactly fanatical about including such tales in their online archives.... Any input along these lines would be greatly appreciated!!

With regards to your friends stories Tali, could I urge you to PM them to me, or possibly e-mail through our web site? Thanks in advance.....

I will get on to the NOTW straight away!! Cheers for the lead!!

Nick

Thanks Tali!

I did contact the NOTW, but have received no reply as yet. Needless to say, I'm not going to be holding my breath over the matter, but my fingers are certainly crossed!!:D:D

Look forward to hearing from you!!

do you have any photos or the gps coordinates? as all those links you've posted are all dead, the problem with posting just website links rather than photos / screenshots / gps coords etc., that the sites can easily go down and the post becomes completely useless to people in the future
