Eliza Lorton birth reg. 2nd quarter 1843 Birmingham vol 16 page 359. No mmn in the index back then, and I can't see her in the 1851 census.
She married John Blick 1st quarter 1866 Birmingham vol 6d page 153.

1861 census

Timothy Sanders 59
Martha Sanders 51
Samuel I Lorton 20
Eliza M Lorton 17
Joseph H Lorton 13
Alfred I Lorton 10

she is listed as Daughter in Law, I think the address is 155 Irving Street, she is a button carder.

Daughter in law in 1851 census would mean Stepdaughter to Head, Timothy Sanders.
Martha Lorton married timothy Sanders 1857 28th july,St Bartholomew.

1851 wrongly transcribed Lanton.

Hi lloyd and alberta,
Many thanks - I have all this info already.
My problem is that I am helping out another ancestry guy, who thinks that Eliza May (mother Martha) is his ancestor....but he has now come across another Eliza Lorton (born around the same time) with parents John Lorton and Mary.
It is this other Eliza we want to try and eliminate... I think he'll need to buy the marriage cert of Lorton/Blick to confirm once and for all, eh?
