Yardley cemetery

Gone but not forgotten R.I.P.
Some years back I found out that my step grandfather was buried at Yardley Cemetery in 1950. Thanks to the kindness of the office staff at the time they gave me a map and a location of where he was buried (pic 1 section 55) Went and had a look at the grave but unfortunately there was no headstone, the plot had sunk like most of the others around it, and that part of the section was in a pretty bad state to be honest. I just left it at that and thought, “ well at least I found out where he was buried”. Anyway, the other day I had cause to visit the cemetery, so while I was there I went and had another look at the grave. To my surprise that particular section had had a memorial garden put there, pics 2,3,4. So my grandfather would have been buried somewhere under the garden. I estimate there would have been in the region of 45 graves at one time, so, when they built the garden, what would have happened to all the remains? Surely they wouldn’t have left them in situ would they?
